Pre approval adoption training
Preparation to adopt
This training is designed for you to find out more information about adoption before you make the decision to apply. The programme includes up to date information about adoption and the process. You will have the opportunity to discover the relevant skills and knowledge you already have along with the opportunity to develop new skills which you will need to parent an adopted child. The course is mandatory so anybody considering adoption has to attend.
Courses are usually run each month of the year across the region and ideally you will attend a course in your local Trust area. If you are unable to do this or if you are required to attend a course sooner then there is the option of attending courses outside your area, should there be availability. In addition there are two Regional courses run each year and these are delivered over a weekend (Friday to Sunday). Your local Adoption team will coordinate a place on the Regional course on your behalf.
Dates: 1 May 2018 – 5 June 2018 inc (6 consecutive Tuesdays)
Time: 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm
Venue: Tweed Room, Robinson Hospital, Ballymoney
Unless otherwise stated, please speak directly with your allocated social worker if you wish to attend any pre-approval adoption training. Attendance is via invite only.
