Raising children in today’s uncertain and dangerous world can be a daunting task. Children are susceptible to so many forces around them, and they can be lost in the chaos without a strong carers to guide them. Strengthening our knowledge about mental health will always benefit children in our care.
The training workshop will be practical, informative and interactive. They will focus on reflective learning around mental health awareness. The programme will present an understanding of the signs and symptoms associated with mental ill-health.
You will gain:
- A better knowledge of Mental Health and Mental Illness
- The ability to change stereotypical thinking
- Awareness of how foster carers and children can protect and promote their own mental health and emotional wellbeing
- Useful resources and signposting.
The course will be over two half days dealing with mental health and emotional resilience. Look at stages in the helping process when faced with adversity and understanding life transitions. Examine the common concepts in shared parenting. Place an emphasis on self care and ethical and professional practices.
