The programme is an awareness level training event to highlight that abuse of children and adults happens throughout society. There is a focus on being aware of the different types of abuse that people experience and how these incidents need to be reported appropriately.

The session will raise people’s awareness of the impact the media has on our perceptions of who is at risk and debunk a few myths in the process. In doing so this will hopefully assist Foster Carers to have a broad understanding of the experiences many of the children in their care have been through. The link between the abuse of the children and the abuse of adults at risk of harm (who may be in need of protection) will be considered in keeping with the ‘think family’ campaigning.
