Adoption UK training update

Adoption UK Northern Ireland in partnership the Regional Adoption and Fostering Service

This training has been generously funded by the Regional Adoption and Fostering Service and is free-of-charge for adoptive families.

‘Considering a  Sibling Group’ – Saturday 16th June in Belfast (details and booking form available here)

This one-day workshop that will consider the benefits for brothers and sisters of sharing an adoptive family and the potential challenges for both adopters and children.

The workshop will be of benefit to prospective adopters already approved for a sibling placement or considering reviewing their approval criteria to include siblings, those undergoing assessment and thinking about a sibling placement, and those giving consideration to providing a placement for a sibling of an existing adopted child.

‘Parenting our Children’

The TESSA project are funding a FREE therapeutic parenting programme in early June in Antrim.  This training is for adoptive parents of children between the age of 2-12 years (due to the age restrictions of the Tessa project).  This participative training is delivered by adoptive parents and is interactive – balancing theory with practical exercises.  It will provide an opportunity to gain an understanding of an adopted children’s needs and to receive valuable peer support.
