Regional Training Pathway (RTP)

The Regional Training Pathway forms a structured approach to foster carers learning and development programmes throughout all five HSC Trusts.

The Pathway aims to improve the care provided to looked after children (LAC) by increasing the skills and knowledge of foster carers.

Alongside preapproval and core issue requirements the RTP sets out a range of other learning opportunities, such as:

First Aid – Safeguarding – Respecting and Valuing the Individual – Behaviour Management – Attachment and Loss – Internet Safety – Recognising Men’s Role – Sexual Health and Personal Development – Child Sexual Exploitation.
